As seen in the definition, complex homeopathy is used to treat clinical
conditions. The philosophy is that the system knows which remedy is necessary.
The problem however is that since the complex is a mixture of remedies, each
remedy gives its own proving. Hahnemann criticized
the "allopathic
method, in which medicines are given, whose symptoms have no direct
pathological relation to the morbid state, neither similar nor opposite, but
quite heterogeneous to the symptoms of the disease". Organon § 22
In a way complex remedies are not similar but "heterogeneous". We have confirmed this observation. In the
treatment, the remedy is often taken for a longer time, this causes energetic
tensions in the body because of those provings mentioned above. The original homeopathic
philosophy however is to give the simillimum,
this give the "system" or dynamis
clear direction instead of confusing it. Bear in mind there is also a reasonable
strong economic argument to use complex remedies and they are relatively easy
to prescribe, which has contributed to its widespread use. Hopefully you don't
use complex homeopathy for this easy way out.
