Health overview 2006, results of medical quackery
From U.S. National Center for Health Statistics 1

Jan. 27, 2007.  Medical science is claiming to be responsible for public health and for the great deal they are therefore also responsible for the health conditions of the population. As you should have noticed this site is not that optimistic about general health practices and consider a lot of them quackery. This article took some citations of an health overview of 2006 (the USA in this case). The point made before at this site is proven again, mainstream medics is not really able to increase health or life quality, what are the results ?

Yet, even as progress is made in improving life expectancy, increased longevity is accompanied by increased prevalence of chronic conditions and their associated pain and disability.  2 3
Money spent on health is increasing rapidly, this also contradicts ideas that health quality is increasing 4. (or proves that the health industry has efficient advertising methods for more expensive technologies, but hypochondria can hardly be called healthy):
The United States spends more on health per capita than any other country, and health spending continues to increase rapidly.5...In 2004, national health care expenditures in the United States totaled $1.9 trillion, a 7.9% increase compared with an 8.6% per year increase from 2000–2003.6
People are more institutionalized by correctional institutions with an increase of 0.45% in 1990 to 0.70% in 2000 7 an increase 55,6% in just 10 years. Why ? Even as is if this seems not directly health related (but it is mentioned in "health statistics"); increase of crime institutionalization is a mental and moral health degree which in alternative circles is considered the highest level of health.

Obesity has health consequences.
Two-thirds of American adults are overweight and one-third are obese. Surplus body weight is associated with excess morbidity and mortality 8
Children are the future. Why is it that children are less able to be involved in activity because of chronic conditions  (from 6,6% in 1997 to 7.0% in 2004 by selected characteristics in children under 18)? 9 Apparently because of some dark reasons chronic disease is increasing in children..

The purpose of this article is just to unveil the shortcomings of current medical practices. This is no denial some people are helped by some methods. But in general the high expectations are overestimated, medical science has not proven to have "healing abilities" but only to compensate disease, this is "prove" of quackery in another sense of the word you might be used to.
